Continuous Heart Rate and Exercise Calories Burned
Your heart rate provides a window to overall fitness. It is an
indicator of intensity and efficiency of exercise including calories burned. The ePulse™ continuously acquires and shows your current exercise heart rate and calculates and displays calories burned based on your heart rate and personal profile.
If you use the ePulse™ several times a day it automatically adds your calories burned into a grand daily total.
Daily Exercise Calories Burned
The ePulse™, allows you to determine how many calories you
burn in the course of any activity that elevates your heart rate,
from intense aerobic activity to routine daily activities such as moving around
the office or doing work around the house.
Total Daily Calories Burned and Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR)
This function takes your BMR, which is a prediction of how many calories you will burn based on your personal data input, and adds the Daily Exercise Calories Burned to show you your total caloric burn for a day. This complements the Exercise Calories Burned Per Hour
feature of the ePulse™ by showing an estimate of the total calories you
would burn daily. This is particularly useful for those trying to count calories and lose weight through a program of diet and exercise. As you exercise, the ePulse™ will automatically add the calories you burn to your daily total so you can see the cumulative results of your efforts.
Exercise Time
The ePulse displays the elapsed exercise time. This
allows you to plan your work out time and exercise regimen effectively.
Average Heart Rate
The Average Heart Rate feature displays your average heart rate over time. Average heart rate is an overall indicator of your fitness. Typically, a lower heart rate is indicative of a healthier heart. One measure of an exercise program's effectiveness is a decrease in average heart rate as your fitness improves. The Average Heart Rate feature can also provide an indication of "over exercise" if your heart rate measurement is 5-10 beats above your average heart rate for an extended period of time.
Minimum Heart Rate
The Minimum Heart Rate feature displays your minimum heart rate before each reset of the ePulse monitor. As you see improvements in your cardio and fitness levels, you should see your minimum heart rate decrease over time.
Maximum Heart Rate
The Maximum Heart Rate feature displays your maximum heart rate before each reset of the ePulse monitor.
Target Heart Rates
Based on your personal data, the ePulse monitor will automatically calculate optimal heart rate exercise zones for you in order for you to achieve the maximum health benefits from your activities. The ePulse illuminates a green LED to alert you that you are in your selected target exercise zone:
Fat Burning Zones Provided
as a target low and high range for your heart rate to optimize fat burning during
exercise or other activities that elevate your heart rate into these zones.
Cardio Conditioning
Provided as a high and low range for your heart rate to optimize cardio
conditioning during exercise or other activity that elevates your heart rate
into these zones.
